2022 Tournament Draws

Saturday, 19 Nov: 7:30pm:

We are hoping that we can have a full day of tennis at GT and ATC tomorrow. Matches will be one no ad pro-set which is 8 games.

1. For the 3.0 men playing men’s 3.0 singles and/or men’s 3.0 doubles, new draws have been made so please go to the website at Men’s 3.0 Singles  | Men’s 3.0 Doubles  to pull up your times for Sunday.

2. For those of you that were scheduled to play today at ATC, go to the Saturday time that you were supposed to play your first match and next to the Saturday time, you will see a heading that says Sunday and that is your new time. Once you play your match we will give you direction on when your next match is.

Saturday, 19 Nov: 1:00pm:

Well . . . it’s been a heck of a rain day. Still raining all around town and not sure when it will stop. Courts are very, very wet and with no sun and no wind, it will take hours for the courts to dry. Even if we could get the courts dry, I do not want to have any of you come out at 5 or 6 pm with wet, cold and darkness so . . . we are not running any matches today at GT, ATC or St. Mary’s. We will try it again tomorrow starting at 9 am. I will be working the 3.0 men’s singles and doubles into the schedule as they were at St. Mary’s. I will get match times for tomorrow for you later in the day.

We will be going to an 8 game no ad pro-set. I will get more detail out to you later in the day.

We absolutely want to get everyone their t-shirt and will be handling that tomorrow as well.

Good morning! We are wet at Green Tree, ATC and St. Mary’s. The bulk of the rain looks to be just south of us but there are pockets coming through that are getting us wet. So . . . we are in a weather delay for at least a couple of hours and may be longer. We will be paying attention to all of this of course. We have cameras at Green Tree and so very easy to see what the courts look like.

When we know more, we will be back in touch.

We did run 36 cts. of matches last night at Blossom and got all the matches in at Green Tree which was good. Thanks to Debbie Lowry and Pam Sommer who did a wonderful job at Blossom and to Dave Briddle at Green Tree.

Friday, 18 Nov: 5:37pm:

To all players in the “Turkey” tournament. Forecasts are calling for rain tomorrow Saturday and temperatures are now chilly. Certainly, we are disappointed that we don’t have warmer temperatures and sunny skies.

We are very hopeful that we’re going to get all our matches in tonight Friday. We’re running 35 matches at Blossom and we have matches going at Green Tree also. We’ll just have to wait and see what tomorrow looks like.

It certainly seems like it’s going to rain tomorrow and whatever times there are when it is dry, we will blow and go with matches. We will have use of Anne Marie Tennis Center on Sunday if needed and that is very helpful. There’s a smaller chance of rain on Sunday so we will do our best to get the matches on and get the tournament done. Thanks so much.

Green Tree Tennis Club is our host site. We are once again playing all the finals at Green Tree on Sunday. This is our 31st year of running this tournament. We have had a wonderful turnout with 435 registrations and twenty eight draws with singles, doubles and mixed at all levels. We are using Green Tree, Anne Marie and Blossom Tennis Centers. We will also be using St. Mary’s University for the 3.0 men on Saturday.

All sites will be busy with lots of tennis. The competitive spirit and joy of tennis is alive and well! We are looking forward to the weekend and have ordered many, many turkeys and cornish hens. Thank you to tennis directors Raul Garza and Patrick Johnson for making their Tennis Centers available to us this year. Thank you also to Bill Macom, Head Tennis Coach at St. Mary’s University, for use of their courts on Saturday. NOTE: players be sure to park in Lot H to avoid a parking ticket.

We are hoping for good weather but in case of inclement weather, instructions will be posted on the website.

TURKEY T-SHIRTS: Each player gets one t-shirt for the tournament. For those of you that ordered a long sleeve t-shirt or XXL short sleeve, your shirt will be labeled with your name on it for pick up at Green Tree.

For those of you that ordered a short sleeve shirt, please pick up the size you ordered at the site of your first match. We will have a listing at the check-in table with the size you ordered. For those of you playing at St. Mary’s, your shirts will be at Green Tree.

NOTE: We love dogs but not at Green Tree please. Animals present liability and sanitation issues. Thank you!
